Edgard Yerena has an MSc in biology and has specialized in planning and policy for protected areas since 1985. He is currently an assistant professor at Simon Bolivar University and coordinator of the Sierra de Portuguesa Corridors Project.

Information Request: Information about Mountain Protected Areas which are managed by Universities, in any region of the world.
Initial goal of this request: Compilation of a list of such PAs for Latin America, as he is currently working for his university to formally establish one small Mountain Protected Area of 250 hectares size surrounding its own campus.
Long-term goal of this request: When compiled, this information could be useful other Network members, and could be featured on the Mountains Biome website.
